Handbrake is an open-source video transcoder, it is a free tool and I personally use it to RIP DVDs, convert, rotate or join video files.
What I really love about Handbrake is that it is available for Mac, Ubuntu, and Windows. The user interface is similar on all OS, so it is very easy to use.
Handbrake not only converts videos but can also resize videos for your mobile, PlayStation, TV, or any other specific use-case you may have!
Being an open-source software handbrake was written by many people. Here is the list of people who contributed to the software and made it available for free.

Handbrake is a powerful tool that provides two ways you can rotate videos, GUI(Graphical User Interface) and CLI(Command Line Interface). It might sound complicated but believe me, it is very easy. Let us start with the GUI option.

Select the rotation degrees and then click the start encoding button to get your video rotated. You should be able to preview video rotation too in the Summary tab, please have a look at GIF below to see it in action.
Flipping Videos Using Handbrake
Flipping or mirroring videos is extremely easy with Handbrake, Once the video file is loaded you can achieve fliped video in a single click!
To flip the video, go to the “Dimensions” tab, click on the Flip checkbox. Have a look at the short clip below to understand.
Converting Video & RIP DVD/Blueray
It happened to me a lot that whenever I download a movie and try to watch it on TV it needs a specific format like MP4 or MKV. I always have to download another file or get it converted.
I found that getting videos converted is always easier, I love Handbrake for helping me convert from DVD/Blueray to MP4 or MKV as needed. Here is a quick little guide on how to convert the files to MP4/MKV.
Step 1: Load up the file on Handbrake.
Step 2: Select the Format from the dropdown, in my case I want it to convert from Video TS to MP4.
Step 3: Click Start Encode
With that done, you should wait for few minutes and your new MP4 will be ready.
